Nicki Burkel | We recently had Mr. Schaefer come out to our home for a second service call. Our first experience with him is when we first moved into our new home. We had no prior understanding of our entire water system because we originally came from having a city water supply and we were now on a private well. We saw on his web site the different services he offered. We originally called him because of some device that we noticed was located on our kitchen sink. When he came out he indicated that this was a separate drinking water system, called a reverse osmosis drinking water system. This could be used for all of our drinking and cooking water needs. As this system was not fully hooked up, he showed us what do to, how and where to order parts cartridges, and what other alkalizing cartridge we could add to this system to provide the best drinking water available to us. At first we were going to purchase bottled water, but he indicated to use this system which in turn would save us money, and provide us with an unlimited supply of drinking water . Our second service call and the reason I am writing this review, was based upon us experiencing poor water pressure which we started to notice in our entire home. He explained in detail in easy to understandable terms, how that part of our cold water pressure tank system functioned along with its parts. The fix was actually quite simple, it did not cost a lot of money, and we now know what to watch for and what we can do to prevent problems in the future. Also at no extra charge, he analyzed our well water and indicated our water softener was functioning properly at this time, as we had no understanding of this appliance either. Overall we would highly recommend his services based upon his knowledge of well pumps, pressure tanks, water softeners and water quality. We found out later he has been in business since 1972, and was the previous owner of Schaefer Bros Pump and Water Conditioning. It's nice to know we can count on just one person for all of these appliances, and this definitely explains his overall knowledge and professionalism shown in these areas. He will certainly get our call again, and our recommendations to our new neighbors. Nichole B |
Matthew Metrusias | We contacted Mr. Schaefer to perform a service call for us. We had questions and concerns about a water sample report that we received about our new home at the time of offer to purchase. This sample indicated a certain level of arsenic that was contained in one of these samples that were taken. He assured us that this level was below the maximum contaminant level that is allowed by the state. He advised us, and recommended that we install a point of use drinking water system for our kitchen faucet. Mr Schaefer indicated that this additional appliance would lower the level of arsenic, as we wanted the minimum risk to our family for our drinking water. This was then payed for by the seller as part of the purchase agreement, which also saved us money. We also indicated to him that we were not satisfied with the current water pressure either, as this was all new to us being on a well system. He analyzed our water, and he gave us a report on the water quality which contained the level of hardness and iron we had in our water, as we had noticed iron staining on the fixtures too. Our poor pressure was found to be do to the old iron filter which we now intend to replace. Thank you again Mr Schaefer |
