Bolen Custom Homes built my parents new home when they retired from farming. There were issues from the beginning including cracked concrete in the basement floor, a garage floor that was not sloped properly so water did not drain out the doors, and a basement entrance from the garage that was measured wrong so you could not open it if the garage door leading outside was open. The worst was this fall we discovered the headers over both garage door had completely rotted out because they were not flashed - at all. When I contacted Mike Bolen about this his response was to say it was built 13 years ago and it passed all inspections. I wonder what else we are going to find as the house ages. The windows that were used were terrible. They leaked cold air and some clouded up. Even when under warranty it still cost my parents 200 a window to have them fixed.
