| rob b | The process to buy a new home through AHO Construction begins with Blake. Blake can be socially awkward and seems bothered when asked to provide samples of itemscabinets, counter tops, tile, color options. The options offered by AHO are well over the average market price, something to think about when financing all the upgrades/options long term on a mortgage. Additionally, AHO subcontracts most of the work foundation, framing, insulation, electrical, etc. and many of the companies/personnel are completing work of inferior craftsmanship with poor quality materials. After the home is complete you will deal with Tom who gives you a home orientation and is your contact person to get things fixed. Tom is easy to work with but you will need to pester him several times Tom then pesters the contractors before things get completed. I find it unreasonable and unnecessary to continuously hassle people to come and fix issues that are covered in the first year. For the price of these homes, I shouldn't have to pester someone for months to come fix something that should have been done right the first time around. AHO seems to reap the benefits of finding the lowest bidder to do a poor to mediocre job. Buyers beware because when homes are built at this speed, there's a lot of things done in a sloppy fashion. Come ask any person in the the new phase Rose's place 1& 2 about the issues before you dive in head first. If you decide to buy a home, get your own home inspector to check the work in order to insure that it is done correctly, if not done correctly, the inspector can pressure them to correct it promptly instead of waiting months. |
