I suspect if you're playing by all of their rules, your experience will be fine. However, if you try to do anything out of the norm, good luck. In the end, these guys went so far as to send me a bill for a broken meter due to their negligence. Even after trying to reason with their board of directors, I was still left holding the tab, and I suspect purely out of spite. I'm sure this information will identify me, but I feel it's important to warn others. This is a prime example of having a monopoly and leveraging that fact. If you're hooking up status quo, you'll probably be fine. But, if you ask for something out of the ordinary and make someone mad in the process, you're better off giving up and digging a well!

I pay this bill with bill pay service through my bank. There is an option to put in an account number so I did that. I have been paying the bill this way for years. This week I received a snotty letter from "Steph" telling me that the account number I put on the check needs to have a ".01" added to it at the end. She threatened to not apply my payment to my account if I didn't do this and I would be responsible for any past due fees that would result. The letter was very unprofessional and rude. I'm pretty sure many people pay with personal checks and don't even include an account number. Is this woman sending them rude letters too? She could have accomplished her goal with writing a kind letter and asking me to correct the problem without being rude and threatening me. And why after all these years is this suddenly an issue??? If I were her manager I would have a "come to Jesus" talk with her. She is creating a very poor image for this company. I've never met her or have no idea who she is but she needs an attitude adjustment.
