Sherri Stewart | Steer clear of this company for any plumbing services. We have a cabin that was rarely used and the water developed a terrible sulfur smell. We contacted Shaw Brothers and they recommended a tankless water heater. Expensive but it worked great and resolved the sulfur smell immediately! Problem was they neglected to tell us the system needed to be vented or at the least we needed a door that could vent the the air and the unit began leaking. This was a unit less than 2 year old ...they did not give us a warranty and to make matters worse they said they told us we needed to vent it and came up with a story about what we said as to why they didn't proceed with the venting of the unit! Why on earth would someone pay all that money to invest in a tankless water heater and then not agree to do what is necessary to keep the water heater operational? Anyway Hershel, the same plumber who installed the tankless system tried to fix the circuit board but it didn't work. We were given 2 options. You can spend 500 on a brand new 50 gallon water heater or spend 2200 on a tankless system that would be put in by the gas company. We chose the new water heater which we were told would not result in the sulfur smell as long as we kept it maintained every year. 3 weeks later we arrived to our cabin, turn on the hot water and the sulfur smell was horrendous. We were then sent a bill by Shaw Brothers for 1300+ that included the circuit board that didn't work. We called to complain and were told they would adjust the bill. The only adjustment was the board itself. They still charged for the labor for the board and the hot water heater that now smells awful every time the hot water is turned on. Like I said ....your best bet is to steer clear when it comes to plumbing services or reasonable customer service for that matter. |
