John Kennedy | Great selection and I am often in there to pick up project material. They will match prices with the other hardware stores, just wish they were open later often difficult to make it there before they close. |
Michael H. JR. | This store is an avoid at all costs type place for me but sometimes for various reasons patronizing it, can not be avoided. Seek other alternatives if you can as every "department" under the "tuscola home center" umbrella is lacking in one way or another. One commonality throughout the entire store and in each "department" is the horrible customer service from the employees. Almost all the employees maybe 1 or 2 exceptions can be described by one or more of the following not a full or conclusive list by any means: rude, unprofessional, mean, unwelcoming, arrogant, lacking common sense, slow, absentminded, a know it all. Their auto service department is lackluster and ull get better service at almost anyother auto shop. The last time i brought my truck in to the auto department amd took off almost am entire afternoon to do so they never even moved my truck from the spot i parked it in when i dropped it off to them. The employee who i believe is the manger of the auto department never told the mechanics that i had dropped the car off and that it was in the parking lot waiting to be serviced. So when i arrived at 530 to pick the truck back up, the problem wasnt fixed and they offered no explanation or apology. How do u run a auto shop when u cant even tell ur mechanics that the car thats scheduled to be worked on is out in the parking lot? Inexcusable really. Also their Stihl service department is totally unknowledgeable about the equipment they sell, how it works, and in some cases what it even is. I brought a chainsaw in to be fixed as the push pins that hold the handle and throttle trigger to the main body of the saw had come out and the saw needed a badic tune up. After having the saw for three weeks i went to go check on it and pick it up. I was informed that the saw had been fixed and the tune up completed however when they brought it out the push pins had not been replaced and the saw was missing its airfilter replacement was included in the tune up. Needless to say i had to then spend 30 minutes explaining to the guy at the desk why the push pins where important to safely operating the saw and that the saw needed an air filter. After another 3 weeks the saw was finally finished and had an air filter installed however they still had not correctly reassembled the handle as it was still loose and did not get it into the correct position before putting the new pins in as is evident by empty holes that do not line up thus the proper screws can not be inserted. Also whomever sharpens their chainsaw chains dosnt know the difference between a ripping chain and a cross cut chain and effectively ruined 2 50 ripping chains that i brought in to be sharpend and told them they where ripping chains. Didnt matter bc they sharpened them at a 25 degree angle like a crosscut chain is sharppend at instead of sharpening them at the 5 degree angle like a ripping chain should be sharpened at. The employees at the building materials desk hardly ever are around to be of any help and if they are are the most unfriendly group of aholes ever and act as if you either dont know what ur talking about or like it is such a hassle to have to help you. The store also exploits its location based monopoly and charges 2-5x more for the same items or materials that other stores charge. The only good thing about this place is the bbq food truck that is parked out front on Thursdays. If it wasn't for the food truck id give this place zero stars if i could. BOTTOM LINE IS AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS BETTER ALTERNATIVES EXIST. |
Mark Smith | Would not recommend servicing your lawn equipment there. Had my mower for a warranty repair for two weeks, I called them to inquire, “work order fell off the mower - What was wrong with it?” They started it while I was still on the phone and told me nothing was wrong, but “We'll check it out and call you tomorrow “. Two weeks later no call, so I called them...”Mechanic's not here, I'll call you back” Waited an hour..no call..drove to their store After a surly “Mechanics not back yet” from the counterman, young man went out, started it, and declared it repaired. Charged 35 for a warranty repair “bad fuel”. Store mgr did offer to refund money. Money not the issue, bad service is. |
