On the surface, my tech seemed well informed and appeared to have my best interest in mind. This could not have been further from the truth. The tech removed our lower level toilet to snake our main sewer line rather than using the 4" clean out outside the house-- a much cheaper procedure. With this alone, he over-charged us a great deal for resetting the toilet and going from inside the house instead of outside. He then proceeded to snake the line and find no blockage. Four months prior, we had the same issue and Reliable assured us our line was clear. I informed our tech of this, but he insisted that there "must be a blockage." After finding nothing in our line, he noted that just as they noted four months ago there was water standing in our 6" clean out, a few feet from county property. He told us that despite his services, there was nothing to be done from our side, and that we would have to call the county out to actually fix our issue. We paid 578 for what equated to a misdiagnosis and completely unnecessary services on multiple levels, especially since they came out and found the same thing in November. Please note here that our plumber told us that there was no other course of action, and that we had to follow his diagnosis to get our plumbing fixed. Well, it still did not fix the issue in spite of his insistence. The county came out and graciously camera-ed not only their lines but my lines as well. There was absolutely nothing wrong on the county side, but there was an issue with the fall on our side. All of this to say it was an issue on our side, and one far different from the diagnosis from the "Reliable" tech. When we reached out to them about their unnecessary services, they stated that they would credit our money back only if we went with them to fix the fall in our sewer line identified by the county. They proceeded to quote us 5,500-6,500, over double the industry standard. I got a quote the next day from another plumbing company for 1,800 for the same job. Now, if we want to get back our initial 578, we have to pay them nearly three times the amount necessary for the actual required fix. Please seek outside advise: Reliable Plumbing will charge you for as many additional, unnecessary services as possible, then give you a completely unreasonable estimate-- something you wouldn't know unless you shopped around. Please do not trust them. They will play on your ignorance and milk you for as much as they can. We are still trying to dispute the charge, and they have thus far refused to refund us for completing entirely unnecessary services.
