2E Ken | I am satisfied with the services provided from the business. I called in the morning and got the tech to come by 1pm and finish the repaired. The plumber was professional, courteous. This is the cost of living out here so no complaints about the cost. I am more diplomatic- the company have to paid employees every second on the clock, they can't just said” I am not paying for their worker when he or she walk from the truck to the premise or when they drive from their garage to premise etc..” the company have expenses too ,heath insurance, business insurances and so on. |
Sandie Ritter | Tom's Plumbing might be wonderful for people who live in the area permanently. My recent experience was reminiscent of a TV sitcom. Whilst at my vacation home in October, newly installed underfloor heating developed a leak. Brandon fromTom's Plumbing came out and stopped the leak, telling me it was a slow leak. He said they would need to pressure test the system and - to be honest - blinded me with science. I am not a plumber, I saw water coming through the ceiling, the water stopped running when the underfloor heating system was turned off, I thought it'd be a simple procedure to fix the leak. I extended my stay in the USA by several days - changing the flight ticket was costly - they were busy so the repair had to wait. I arranged for them to have a key to get in, I kept making long distance calls from the UK to the USA for updates, and I was led down the garden path. They carried out two pressure tests to the system and told me they could not find a leak. At that point I asked the owner Rich who was mumbling incoherently over the phone - "what would you do if it was your home?" Very clear response "I would turn on the heating, find the leak and fix it". I said "fine, let's do that". The leak may or may not be fixed - I will not know until I am there next week and I turn on the heating system because they now refuse to do that until I arrive. I only wanted underfloor heating because last winter I was wearing gloves indoors until the propane gas fire warmed the living area. I spoke to my plumber in the UK who explained that testing is to find the leak and that with 30 pressure loss which was the amount Brandon told me it had lost, he would have found the pipe where the leak was. However, he added that if he had been the one to turn off the heating system and had found no further water leaking, he would've known the leak was from the underfloor heating and would've simply fixed the leak. He added that he would've carried out the work as quickly as possible. Since I have z-wave technology at my home there, I know the exact amount of time people have been at the house due to door sensors, so I know exactly how many hours it took to actually fix the leak, and approximately how many hours they spent there to carry out two pressure tests. I called the owner, who wrongly accused me of talking over him, I said quietly "I am listening" he repeated "you are talking over me", I said again "I am listening" - his response "I won't talk to you until you arrive next week". Please excuse British slang - I would not recommend these wide boys to anyone. They are opportunists, and single unmarried women are easy prey to tradesmen. |
Patrick Long | I would suggest doing your own plumbing if possible. Disorganized, poor craftsmanship, and exorbitant rates. Not the same outfit it was 30 years ago. |
